1. Who is responsible

2. Data we collect

Depending on how you use the platform, we may process:

• Account data — name, email address, password (stored hashed), email verification status
• Profile data — photo, title, overview, skills, rates, location fields, portfolio, education, employment history, and whether your profile is public
• Marketplace activity — project listings and attachments, proposals, messages, WorkStream tasks, deliveries, invoices, and related files
• Wallet and billing records — credit balance, transaction history for platform fees, and payment-provider references for top-ups (for example PayPal order identifiers)
• Escrow-related records — references needed to create or sync Escrow.com transactions (such as party emails, amounts, and status), so you can collaborate and track payment progress inside the platform
• Support — contact-form submissions and help-desk messages you send us
• Technical data — IP address, device/browser information, session and security cookies, and logs needed to run and secure the service
• Cookie preferences — your consent choices for optional cookies (see our Cookie Policy)

3. How we use data

We use personal data to:

• Create and secure your account, and authenticate you (including optional Google sign-in for existing accounts)
• Operate the marketplace: listings, proposals, messaging, WorkStreams, notifications, and public talent browsing where you enable a public profile
• Process wallet top-ups and deduct platform fees (posting, proposals, and disclosed job-related platform fees)
• Help you initiate and follow Escrow.com transactions between clients and professionals
• Respond to contact and support requests
• Detect abuse, prevent fraud, enforce our Terms of Service, and meet legal obligations
• Improve the product (with optional analytics only if you consent)

Legal bases under GDPR (where applicable) include contract performance (providing the service you request), legitimate interests (security, product improvement, fraud prevention), consent (optional cookies / marketing where used), and legal obligation.

4. Sharing and third parties

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as needed to run Talent Monster:

• Other users — information you choose to make visible (public profile, listings, proposals, messages, WorkStream content shared with the other party)
• PayPal — when you top up wallet credits
• Escrow.com — when you start or manage a project payment. Escrow payments are between the client and the professional; Escrow.com processes and holds those funds under its own policies. We share the information required to create or sync the transaction so both parties can use escrow from the platform
• Sign-in providers — for example Google, if you use that login option
• Infrastructure providers — hosting, email delivery, and similar processors acting on our instructions
• Legal / safety — when required by law or to protect rights, users, or the platform

Talent Monster is not a party to Escrow.com payments between clients and professionals, other than providing the marketplace and collaboration tools. Payment details you enter on Escrow.com or PayPal are handled by those providers under their privacy notices.

5. Wallet credits and payment data

Wallet top-ups fund platform fees only and are non-refundable and non-withdrawable under our Terms of Service. We store your credit balance and a ledger of fee transactions on our systems. Card or PayPal account credentials are not stored by us when you pay through PayPal’s checkout.

6. Public profiles and visibility

If you enable a public professional profile, visitors (including people without accounts) may see the information you publish there. Project listings you publish are visible to professionals on the platform as needed for proposals. Do not post sensitive personal data you are not comfortable sharing in those contexts.

7. Cookies

We use necessary cookies for security and sessions. Optional preference, analytics, and marketing cookies are used only with your consent where required. Details and controls: Cookie Policy and the cookie banner / Cookie settings control in the footer.

8. Retention

We keep account and transaction records for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward as needed for security, disputes, accounting, and legal compliance. If you delete your account in settings, we remove account data we no longer need to retain, subject to backups and legal holds. Messages, files, and shared WorkStream content may remain visible to the other party where required for their records of the engagement.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures such as encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use a strong unique password and protect your devices.

10. International transfers

Talent Monster may be hosted or supported using infrastructure in more than one country. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we take steps appropriate under applicable law (for example contractual safeguards with processors).

11. Your rights

Depending on your location (including under GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to data portability. You may also withdraw cookie consent at any time without affecting prior lawful processing.

You can update much of your profile data in account settings, manage cookie preferences via Cookie settings, and request deletion of your account where that feature is available. For other requests, email info@talent.monster. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

12. Children

The service is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a minor has provided data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

13. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date below will change when we do. Significant changes may also be highlighted in-product or by email when appropriate.
